Florida State’s weekend rotation was selected in the 2026 draft this weekend.

Left-hander Trey Beard was picked in the fifth round by the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon. Beard went 6-1 with a 4.50 ERA in 14 games (12 starts) for FSU. He had 97 strikeouts and just 24 walks in 68 innings. His slot value is $496,400.

Right-hander Bryson Moore was selected in the seventh round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Moore went 6-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 14 games (14 starts), recording 65 strikeouts and 25 walks in 67.2 innings. His slot value is $317,100.

Ace left-hander Wes Mendes, the ACC pitcher of the year, was selected by the Houston Astros on Saturday afternoon.

If all three sign, as expected given recent trends with the MLB draft, FSU would have a completely new rotation for 2027. Baseball America cited that all but two draft picks in the first 10 rounds of the 2025 draft signed with MLB teams.

FSU has landed the Big East pitcher of the year in left-hander Caden Suchy from UConn as well as a group of right-handers — Sebastian Lippman of Florida Gulf Coast, Alex Philpott of South Carolina, Isaiah Shayter of Penn State and Otto Espinoza of California — via the transfer portal.

The Seminoles will also return left-hander Payton Manca (2-1, 4.26 ERA), who missed a chunk of the season with tenderness in his arm. But Manca has impressed for a second straight summer in the Cape Cod League.
