The Big East's top pitcher will now play for Florida State in 2027.

Left-hander Cayden Suchy, who had 105 strikeouts in 89.1 innings, committed to FSU on Thursday. The 6-foot, 192-pound Suchy made 15 starts and went 5-3 with a 2.72 ERA.

He pitched six or more innings in seven outings in 2026. Among them: Suchy pitched 6.2 innings and allowed just two earned runs, with five strikeouts and three walks, in February at Arizona.

Suchy will be a junior in 2027, and he could be in line for a weekend rotation spot as FSU could lose Wes Mendes and Trey Beard to the MLB draft. Bryson Moore is also a junior and is draft-eligible this summer.

FSU landed its first transfer, Jackson McKenzie, on Wednesday. McKenzie began his career at Mississippi State before playing at a junior college and then was Florida A&M's top hitter in 2026.
