Kevin Wynn is returning to Florida State for 2026. Add Wynn to the list of defensive players who announced their intention to enter the transfer portal.

Wynn made a short but important post on Twitter/X on Wednesday afternoon: "I will be remaining at FSU go noles."

The freshman defensive tackle added to concerns about the outlook of FSU's defensive front in 2026 when he announced an intention to enter the transfer portal on Jan. 10, as reported by On3. But it's not clear if Wynn ever entered the portal or was using that as leverage in negotiations with FSU during his decision-making process for next season.

Wynn was injured in preseason camp and limited to four games in 2025, recording one tackle. He played 40 snaps — including 13 against Miami and 17 vs. Wake Forest. Late in the season, coach Mike Norvell said the decision was made to redshirt the defensive lineman.

He was one of the top prospects that FSU landed in the class of 2025, a major recruiting victory for coach Mike Norvell and the staff. Wynn picked FSU over Georgia, among other schools.

Considering the uncertainty of Mandrell Desir and Darryll Desir, who have also stated their intention to enter the transfer portal, returning Wynn is a big piece along FSU's defensive front. The Seminoles have also lost Amaree Williams, who has committed to Mississippi State.

Wynn could be penciled into a two-deep that also includes Texas A&M end Rylan Kennedy and returning players like Deante McCray, Daniel Lyons and Deamontae Diggs.

The transfer portal closes to new entrants on Friday (Jan. 16), with the only exceptions being Miami or Indiana in Monday’s national title game. Transfers can continue to visit and make their decisions in January before enrolling at FSU or their new school.
