The Florida State softball team landed a second transfer in Tennessee’s Ella Dodge, who has played second base and third base.

Dodge won state titles at Bradenton (Florida) Lakewood Ranch in 2021 and ’22. She developed into one of the nation’s top 100 high school players as a senior in 2023. Dodge took a redshirt season at Tennessee before becoming a big part of the Volunteers in her two seasons, entering the transfer portal on June 13.

The 5-foot-8 Dodge started in 64 games and hit .285 with 11 home runs, 44 runs and 46 RBI in 2026 as a redshirt sophomore. Dodge, who bats left-handed and throws right-handed, helped Tennessee advance to the Women’s CWS in 2025 and ’26. She’s an intriguing addition as an infielder who can play two positions and hit, but Dodge also has multiple years of eligibility remaining.

FSU has lost two of its top hitters this offseason as shortstop Isa Torres transferred to Texas and third haseman Jaysoni Beachum is making visits (among them to Florida and Oklahoma State).

The Seminoles have prioritized power, adding Stetson star Nicole Edmiaston. The Atlantic Sun player of the year, Edmiaston plays first base, hit .453, hit 23 home runs and had 70 RBI as a junior this spring.
