Florida State flipped the commitment of Jernard Albright on Sunday as the four-star linebacker wrapped up his official visit.

Albright, who was committed to South Carolina, had 41 tackles in nine games at Springfield (Ga.) Effingham County as a junior in 2025. He has been listed as a safety by Rivals / On3 but is expected to be a linebacker in college.

“FSU is most definitely 10 steps ahead of South Carolina,” Albright told Noles247 after his FSU visit.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Albright is the eighth commitment to FSU’s 2027 class. He joins another linebacker, Gregory Batson, of Leesburg, Ga.
