Warrick Dunn will return to Tallahassee on Dec. 2 to speak at the Quarterback Club’s 76th annual awards jamboree.

Dunn will be the keynote speaker and special guest as the Tallahassee Quarterback Club honors star athletes from 10 local high schools as well as FSU and Florida A&M.

The 50-year-old Dunn is a humanitarian whose foundation has helped hundreds of families realize the dream of home ownership with down payment assistance through his Homes for the Holidays program. Dunn began the program during his NFL career to honor is mother, Betty Smothers, who was shot while working as an off-duty policewoman in Baton Rouge, La., during his freshman season in 1993. Smothers’ dream was to be able to afford a home for Warrick and his siblings.

Dunn enjoyed one of the most impressive careers in FSU history, running for 3,959 yards and 37 touchdowns while accumulating 1,314 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns from 1993-96. An All-ACC tailback and an All-American, Dunn was recently inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the Dec. 2 event as well as sponsorship opportunities for local businesses are available now (contact [email protected]). It’s the first time Dunn has spoken to the Tallahassee QB Club.

Dunn replaces Jordan Travis, who was slated to speak but is unable due to a schedule change.

The next Tallahassee QB Club event will feature ACC Network host and FSU alum Taylor Tannebaum on Tuesday (Nov. 18).
