Florida State added a sixth wide receiver prospect to Mike Norvell’s 2026 recruiting class on Saturday.

But the last name will hold a lot of weight in the heart of Florida State fans, as 12 years later after his older brother, Jameis, helped deliver a national title to FSU, Jonah Winston announced his intentions to play for the Seminoles.

The 5-foot-10 and 155-pounder is a composite three-star prospect and is considered to be the No. 47 WR prospect in the country per 247sports.

For many years, Winston played both quarterback and wide receiver for Hoover (Alabama) High School. But during the course of his junior year it became more evident that his future would be as a receiver.

Winston chose Florida State over Maryland, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Alabama among other offers.

During his junior season, Winston caught 38 passes for 542 yards and three touchdowns. He also contributed 152 rushing yards and five more touchdowns on the ground.

With Winston’s commitment, Florida State is up to 23 commitments in the 2026 class. Winston joins one of the best wide receiver classes in the country alongside four-star Jasen Lopez, four-star Devin Carter, four-star Brandon Bennett, four-star EJ White, and four-star Darryon Williams.

Florida State occupies the No. 14 ranked recruiting class in both recruiting service rankings (247 and On3).
