Florida State suffered some attrition from it’s defensive line class on Wednesday night as three-star defensive lineman Tico Crittendon Jr. decommitted from the Seminoles.
A composite three-star prospect according to the 247sports composite rankings, the 6-foot-4 and 300 pound Crittendon had been committed to Florida State since June 17th.
Crittendon visited Florida State for the first time on his official visit on June 14th and ultimately committed to Mike Norvell and defensive line coach Terrance Knighton during the visit.
Crittendon’s recruitment was considered relatively fluid at the time and while Florida State was not considered to one of the main contenders heading into official visits, a good weekend helped the Seminoles come out of the visit with a commitment.
He initially chose Florida State over Texas Tech and Georgia, of whom he also took official visits to.
Florida State still has multiple commitments along the defensive line, including four-star Earnest Rankins and three-stars Wihtlley Cadeau, Chris Carbin, Franklin Whitley and Judah Daniels.
Florida State is still actively pursuing defensive lineman before early signing day, but primarily at edge rusher.
With Crittendon’s decommitment, Florida State is back down to 26 commitments in Mike Norvell’s 2026 recruiting class. The recruiting class is still ranked in the Top-15 in both major recruiting services.
