Eric Jeon had a walk-off single to left field in the bottom of the 11th inning as Stanford defeated Florida State 8-7 on Saturday.
FSU emptied out the bullpen in an effort to take game 2 and perhaps grab a series win at Stanford. But the Cardinal dashed those thoughts.
Brody DeLamielleure had an RBI double in the third inning and an RBI single in the fifth for FSU.
Hunter Carns also had an RBI double in the third and later scored on Nathan Cmeyla's sacrifice fly. But Carns also had three of FSU's 11 strikeouts.
Chase Williams went 2 for 6 with two runs scored.
John Stuetzer returned to the lineup and robbed a home run at the left-field wall. Stuetzer went 0 for 5 with three strikeouts.
Trey Beard started and gave up six runs (three earned) in four innings. He had seven strikeouts.
John Abraham allowed one run on two hits in four innings, striking out two and walking one. Brodie Purcell pitched .2 hitless innings, and Payton Manca returned to throw 1.1 hitless innings (with a walk and a strikeout).
Cole Stokes (0-2) gave up the winning run in the 11th. After Nolan Stoll had an infield single, Cort MacDonald's double put Still on third base.
