The No. 9 Florida State softball team fell 6-5 in eight innings to No. 23 Stanford on Sunday afternoon. 
 
After winning 12 straight ACC games, FSU was swept in the three-game series at Stanford.

For the second straight game, the Seminoles (36-7, 12-3 ACC) struck first as Jaysoni Beachum singled, and Ashtyn Danley walked to get some traffic on the base paths. Bella Ruggiero came through with a RBI single to put the Seminoles up 1-0. 
 
Stanford responded with three runs of its own in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-1 lead. 
 
After scoreless second and third innings, Marin Heller and Makenna Sturgis hit back-to-back singles to set the stage for Isa Torres, who delivered with her 10th home run of the year to put the Seminoles up 4-3. 
 
Beachum blasted her seventh homer of the season over the center-field wall in the top of the sixth to put the Seminoles up 5-3. 
 
Stanford (26-12, 12-6) fought back to tie the game 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth.
 
Ashtyn Danley responded with a scoreless inning in the seventh to send the game into extras, but the Cardinal hit a two-out single with the bases loaded in the eighth inning to take the series finale.
