Samuel Singleton Jr. will miss an “extended period of time” due to an injury suffered in the Alabama game on Saturday, coach Mike Norvell said on Monday. He was seen on FSU’s sideline in the second half on crutches.

Singleton had 20 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown in three games this season. But he was more impactful as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, grabbing eight receptions for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns. His 65-yard catch-and-run in the third quarter was a key play that set up Ashton Daniels’ 2-yard touchdown pass to Landen Thomas.

“He’s had an outstanding start of the season,” Norvell said.

Similar to linebacker Blake Nichelson, Norvell thinks Singleton Jr. is not out for the season but could be expected back later in 2026.

FSU has a deep running back room. Tre Wisner hasn’t been used very much, picking up 34 yards on five carries. But the 1,000-yard rusher at Texas in 2024 will no doubt see more playing time beginning with FSU’s game against Central Arkansas on Saturday at 3 p.m. (ACC Network).

Norvell said “it will definitely open the door” for Wisner to play more.

The Seminoles also landed a talented freshman, Amari Thomas, in the 2026 signing class. They added Florida Atlantic transfer Gemari Sands, who ran for 582 yards and a pair of touchdowns with FAU in 2025.

Zay Parks also had 15 carries for 95 yards in a pair of 2025 games, against East Texas A&M and Kent State.
