Rintaro Sasaki hit a grand slam home run as Stanford walked off Florida State 7-4 in the ninth inning on Sunday night.
After a pair of Stanford one-run victories, the finale on Sunday was a stunning end to a series sweep of No. 8 FSU.
The game was tied 3-3 going into the ninth. Eli Putnam led off the inning with a home run to put the Seminoles in front.
Hunter Carns went 2 for 5 with an RBI single, and Cal Fisher had an RBI single for FSU (29-14, 12-9 ACC). Chase Williams went 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored.
Right-hander Bryson Moore returned and started, pitching four innings. He had five strikeouts and just one walk, giving up two runs (one earned).
Chris Knier followed with two hitless innings. Cade O'Leary allowed an earned run in two innings, but he had four wild pitches.
The Seminoles couldn't get outs in the ninth. Brodie Purcell gave up a pair of singles. Gabe Nard walked Nolan Stoll to load the bases. And Sasaki brought them all home with his 14th home run.
FSU has now dropped two of its last three ACC series, including a loss at Georgia Tech on April 10-12. The Seminoles have series wins over Wake Forest, NC State, Duke, Virginia and Notre Dame.
But a series loss to Stanford (21-19, 10-11) stings and puts a dent in FSU's postseason resume. The Seminoles will play host to Pittsburgh, travel to Clemson and host Miami in the final three ACC weekend series.
