FSU (15-14, 8-8 ACC) at Pittsburgh (11-18, 4-12)

Time: Wednesday at 9 p.m.

TV: ACC Network.

KenPom rankings: FSU is 71, Pittsburgh is 99.

Coaches: Luke Loucks has FSU in position to finish .500 or better in ACC play with a win at Pittsburgh. Jeff Capel had enjoyed three straight losing seasons prior to the struggles in 2025-26. He is 125-125 in eight seasons at Pittsburgh.

Streaks: FSU has won eight of its last 11 games. The Seminoles went 5-2 in February and are coming off an 80-71 victory at Georgia Tech. Pitt went 2-5 in February and is coming off a 72-56 road win over California on Saturday.

Notable wins / losses: FSU’s best wins are over KenPom No. 31 Miami on Jan. 20 as well as road wins over No. 57 Virginia Tech and No. 36 Clemson. The Seminoles lost to Miami in round 2 in Tallahassee as well as No. 17 Virginia and No. 39 SMU, although FSU will get a second matchup with the Mustangs on Saturday.

Of note: FSU was projected to finish 15th in the 18-team ACC in the preseason predicted order of finish. Going into Tuesday’s games, FSU is tied for 8th with Cal and SMU. … The Seminoles’ 2-point shooting continues to trend up, now at 54.3 percent (79th in Division I). … Pitt isn’t lighting it up from 3-point range (33.7 percent, 196th) anord inside the arc (51.2 precent, 209th). … Kobe MaGee rolled his ankle at Georgia Tech, and Loucks doesn’t think the injury is too severe but is uncertain if he will play at Pittsburgh.

FSU stats: Robert McCray is 14 points shy of 1,600 for his career. He has scored in double figures in 15 of the last 16 games. McCray leads FSU in scoring (17.3) in FSU’s 16 ACC games. … Chauncey Wiggins is averaging 12.8 points and Lajae Jones 12.1 points. … Thomas Bassong is coming off his best game, scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

Pittsburgh stats: Cameron Corhen is a familiar face on Pitt’s roster and the team’s most productive player (12.9 points, 7 rebounds, 52.7 percent shooter from the floor). The 6-foot-10, 235-pound forward played his first two seasons at FSU. … Guard Barry Dunning Jr. also averages 11.9 points and 5.7 rebounds. … Guard Brandin Cummings averages 12.5 points. … Forward Roman Siulepa averages 10.4 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Quotable: “Thomas (Bassong) has been absolutely incredible for us,” Loucks said. “And if you look at the stat sheet, his numbers don't pop off as a super efficient player, but his growth individually has been off the charts. He works his tail off every day, and it's helping our team. In big moments, he's been one of those guys that makes all the right, winning plays. And he's still gonna make some mistakes because he's a freshman, he's 18, 19 years old, still getting his skis under him.

“But he's been tremendous in terms of his growth. And hopefully he'll keep it up these last two games, going to the ACC tournament because when he does the dirty work for us, defensively and rebounding and screening and running the floor, all the little things that go into winning that don't always show up on the box sheet, we're a really tough team to beat.”
