Florida State’s bye week came at a good time to heal up. That was especially the case for quarterback Tommy Castellanos, who left the Stanford game with what appeared to be a concussion.
Coach Mike Norvell admitted Castellanos’ availability would have been in question if FSU had a game.
“Coming off the bye, Tommy probably would not have been able to play if we had to play last week but saw some real progress towards the end of the week off,” Norvell said on Monday in his weekly press conference. “We tried to be real careful with him just as we went about it.”
Norvell doesn’t have to release an availability report until Thursday evening, roughly 48 hours from the Seminoles’ kickoff with Wake Forest. FSU (3-4, 0-4 ACC) will play host to Wake Forest (5-2, 2-2) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (ACC Network).
The Seminoles will be without Jayvan Boggs. The true freshman started early in the season and had five catches for 47 yards and a touchdown but has not played due to an undisclosed injury.
Minor depth chart changes

Wide receiver Gavin Blackwell is no longer listed on FSU’s depth chart.
Amaree Williams was removed from the tight end depth chart. He has been listed as a backup defensive end in previous weeks.
There’s little change on defense. Justin Cryer is listed as a starting linebacker but now also as a backup jack.
Homecoming, Seminole Heritage game
FSU will feature turquoise in Saturday’s game against Wake. The color “represents harmony, friendship and fellowship throughout Native American communities,” the school says.
The Seminoles have won their last 11 homecoming games.
FSU-Clemson game time set
The FSU-Clemson game will be played on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. ESPN, ESPN2 or ACC Network could broadcast the game. That will likely be decided on Sunday.
FSU has also played night games at Virginia, vs. Miami and at Stanford. The NC State game will be played on a Friday night later in December.
