No. 1 UConn defeated the Florida State women’s basketball team 99-67 on Sunday afternoon.
The Huskies jumped out to a 23-13 lead after the first quarter and shot 57 percent for the game.
Sole Williams scored 14 points to lead FSU (2-1), which had 23 turnovers.
The Seminoles shot 38 percent (24 of 63) from the floor and 39 percent (12 of 31) from 3-point range. FSU’s 12 3-pointers was the fifth-highest total in program history, with Allie Kubek and Jasmine Shavers making three 3s apiece.
Allie Kubek and Shavers each had 11 points, while Pania Davis had nine points and six rebounds for the Seminoles.
