After drama-filled days of uncertainty, Mandrell Desir and Darryll Desir will return to Florida State. Their agent, Moe Marquez, announced their decision late Thursday night to multiple media outlets.

Mandrell Desir was named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America on Wednesday. He had 30 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and a forced fumble as a true freshman in 2025.

Darryll Desir had 23 tackles and a sack in 2025.

The twins had announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal on Jan. 5, but they didn’t show up in the portal until Wednesday. But now their return to FSU, as well as Kevin Wynn’s decision to also come back, helps ensure the defensive front has experienced depth going into 2026.

Mandrell Desir, Darryll Desir, Wynn, Daniel Lyons, Deante McCray and Texas A&M transfer Rylan Kennedy give FSU six starting defensive linemen with college experience. The Seminoles also signed a large group of defensive tackles and ends in December, including junior college standout Jalen Anderson and Cam Brooks of nearby Thomasville, Georgia.

And after weeks of wondering just what the defense would look like, FSU made massive strides with the line and the additions of linebackers Chris Jones (Southern Miss) and Mikahi Gbayor (North Carolina) on Thursday, too.
