Florida State signed Colorado transfer forward Sebastian Rancik from the transfer portal, head coach Luke Loucks announced Wednesday. Rancik, a native of Slovakia who played high school basketball in California, played two seasons for the Buffaloes.

“Sebastian is a program-changing addition for us,” Loucks said. “At 6-foot-11, his versatility really sets him apart – he can stretch the floor with his shooting, put the ball on the deck, and make plays in space. That combination of size and skill is rare, and it allows him to impact the game from multiple positions. He also takes on the challenge defensively, as he matched up with some of the nation’s best individual players last season with an urgency and passion that is contagious."

Rancik reportedly picked FSU over Kentucky. He played in 62 games (37 starts) at Colorado.

As a sophomore, Rancik averaged 12.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He also shot 86 percent from the free-throw line , fourth in the Big 12.

"His length and feel make him a perfect fit for how we want to play on both ends," Loucks said. "We see him as a high-level prospect with the tools and upside to continue developing at Florida State, and we’re excited about what he brings to our program.”

With Wednesday’s signing of Rancik, FSU has now announced all of its commitments as signees: Anthony Robinson II (Missouri), Amare Robinson (Tallahassee State College), Kam Taylor (UNC Ashevile), Shon Abaev (Cincinnati), Cooper Schwieger (Wake Forest) and Italian guard Elisee Assui.
