John Garrett has signed a three-year contract that will pay him $575,000 in 2026 to run Florida State's front office.
A letter of understanding for the new Florida State deputy athletics director / general manager of player personnel was released by the school as part of an open records request on Tuesday to the Osceola and other news outlets.
Garrett will earn $575,000 in year 1 (through Jan. 31, 2027), $600,000 in year 2 and finishing with $625,000 in year 3 (ending on Jan. 31, 2029). He signed the agreement with FSU on Dec. 27, 2025.
Executive Director of Football & Player Acquisition Taylor Edwards will earn $400,000 in the first year of a two-year deal. Edwards' salary jumps to $450,000 in year 2.
Contracts for FSU's new assistant football coaches were also released.
Cornerbacks coach Blue Adams will earn $400,000 in the first year of a two-year deal. He will be paid $500,000 in year 2, which ends on Jan. 31, 2028.
Running backs coach Kam Martin will earn $425,000 in the first year of a two-year deal. He will earn $450,000 in year 2, which ends on Jan. 31, 2028.
Defensive ends coach Nick Williams will earn $475,000 in the first of a two-year deal. He will earn $525,000 in year 2, which ends Jan. 31, 2028.
There are significant buyouts for Garrett, Edwards and the assistants if they are hired away before the end of 2026.
A contract for new quarterbacks coach Austin Tucker, who has been on staff since 2020 in various roles, was not provided by FSU on Tuesday.
