Jasmine Shavers scored 28 points, drilling 6 of 10 3-pointers, as the Florida State women’s basketball team shook off a sluggish start to defeat Nicholls State 89-64 on Wednesday afternoon.
Sole Williams added 23 points, while Pania Davis had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Seminoles (3-1).
The teams were tied at 35 at the half before FSU heated up. The Seminoles shot 10 of 16 from 3-point range in the final 20 minutes, leading to 54 second-half points.
FSU made 15 of 34 3-pointers on the day, shooting 44.1 percent from beyond the arc.
The program holds an annual education game each winter to host thousands of Tallahassee elementary school students.
