Shay Ciezki scored 12 of her 22 points in the fourth quarter as the Indiana women’s basketball team made a late run to defeat Florida State 76-72.
Indiana outscored FSU 26-16 in the fourth quarter, with FSU shooting just 4 of 15 from the floor in that 10-minute span. The Seminoles were also just 8 of 12 from the line in the fourth quarter.
Sydney Bowles scored 19 points on 5 of 11 shooting and 8 of 12 from the free-throw line to lead FSU (3-2). Bowles also had four assists.
Jasmine Shavers had 16 points on 5 of 17 shooting, but she was 0 for 5 from beyond the 3-point arc. FSU struggled from long range, making just 2 of 14 shots and was 0 for 6 in the second half.
Pania Davis has 12 points on 5 of 13 shooting and a team-leading seven rebounds.
FSU played without Sole Williams, who is out with an injury but was sitting on the bench.
The Seminoles led by nine, 54-45, in the third period but the shooting struggles down the stretch and Indiana’s success from the floor were the difference late.
FSU shot 25 of 63 (39.7 percent) from the floor. Indiana shot 27 of 56 (48.2 percent) from the floor.
Natasha Howard had her jersey retired before FSU’s game.
