Florida State is expecting around 100 prospects on campus on Saturday for the Seminoles’ opener against Alabama at 3:30 p.m.
After three out of the last four seasons have begun at a neutral site, Florida State will be hosting a ranked opponent as the season opener for the first time since hosting No. 8 Notre Dame in 2021.
Here are some of the notable recruits expected to be in attendance at the game on Saturday. (Rankings per On3/Rivals.)
NOTES AND IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS:
Florida State was expecting multiple official visitors this weekend for the Alabama game. That number has dwindled from 3 or 4 expected visitors to now none.
Four-star DE Asharri Charles was expected to officially visit this weekend but now that visit has been cancelled with no current plans to reschedule. The Miami commit will instead be in Miami to watch the Hurricanes face Notre Dame, as first reported by 247sports and later confirmed by the Osceola.
Other notable 2026 targets to no longer be attending include four-star OT target and UCLA commit Johnnie Jones and four-star edge rusher and Syracuse commit Kamron Wilson.
A large crop of Florida State’s current commits for the 2026 class are expected to be in attendance. The few prospects committed to Florida State that will not be in attendance include three-star LB Karon Maycock, four-star WR Jasen Lopez, three-star OL Da’Ron Parks, three-star DB Sean Johnson and three-star OL Luke Francis.
2026 three-star wide receiver and FSU legacy Jonah Winston is expected at the game and is also expected to be making a commitment decision on the same day, Aug. 30. Intel (and common intuition) suggests that the younger brother of Heisman winner Jameis Winston will be committing to the Seminoles on Saturday.
