FSU (2-0) will play at No. 10 Florida (1-1) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. (SEC Network). Below are some notes on the Seminoles.
The Seminoles scored 108 points in a win over Alcorn State and 101 points in a victory over Alabama State.
FSU's 47 attempted 3-pointers against Alabama State is a school record. The Seminoles also made 18 3-pointers, the third-highest total made in school history. FSU made 20 3s in a 95-55 win over Maine in December 2007.
Lajae Jones scored 20 points on Friday and now has 1,012 career points. Jones has made 15 of 20 shots from the floor to start the 2025-26 season.
“You can’t guarantee it’s going to be a hot night or a cold night,” Jones said. “You just have to trust the work that you have put in and trust your teammates to find you to help create the open shots.”
Chauncey Wiggins will play his 100th career game against Florida. He scored a career-best 22 points vs. Alcorn State and added 12 points in the win over Alabama State.
Florida lost to Arizona in the season opener 93-87 but then routed North Florida 104-64 in the Gators’ home opener. The Gators are viewed as the No. 5 team by KenPom’s metrics. KenPom projects a 92-75 win over FSU.
The Seminoles rank 78th in KenPom’s metrics and are projected to go 16-15.
FSU's game against UT Martin next Tuesday will include a ceremony for Leonard Hamilton, the program’s coach from 2002-25. Hamilton is a graduate of UT Martin.
