Mimi Van Zanten, Nyanya Touray and Jaida McGrew scored goals as FSU defeated Georgetown 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in the third round of the NCAA Tournament at Washington, D.C.
Van Zanten scored Florida State’s first goal five minutes before halftime as part of her first career three-point game. Touray made it 2-0 just 94 seconds into the second half with the eventual game-winner. After GU cut the lead in half at 2-1 in the 58th minute, McGrew scored the first goal of her career 20 minutes later to seal the win.
FSU outshot GU 10-9.
With Sunday afternoon’s win, the Seminoles (13-2-4) are unbeaten in their last six games with a 15-4 scoring margin. FSU improved to 3-0-1 in the postseason and the win over the Hoyas (16-4-3) came in the team’s first true road game of the postseason.

With the win, FSU advances to the NCAA Quarterfinal and will host Ohio State on Friday at the Seminole Soccer Complex. A game time has not been announced yet. Tickets are now on sale at Seminoles.com/Tickets.
