Heather Gilchrist scored in the 24th minute as Florida State advanced in the NCAA Tournament with a 1-0 win over Lipscomb on Thursday afternoon in Washington, D.C.

Gilchrist’s goal came off a corner kick from Taylor Suarez.

FSU (12-2-4) had 20 shots on goal. Lipscomb had eight shots.

Kate Ockene had a save for FSU, which recorded its 11th shutout of the season.

The Seminoles picked up their second straight postseason shutout, following up a 4-0 rout of Samford in the opener.

The Seminoles will play on Sunday against the Georgetown-West Virginia winner at noon.
