College football polls give us a viewpoint into how teams are valued at that point in time. And that point in time seems to have forgotten what happened roughly one month ago.
Florida State slid out of the top 10 in the coaches’ poll, dropping 11 spots to No. 19 on Sunday afternoon. Alabama, coming off a win over Georgia on Saturday, jumped five spots to No. 11. Oddly, Georgia is 10th — one spot ahead of Alabama.
The Seminoles (3-1) lost to Virginia in double overtime on Friday night. But they also have a resume win over Alabama, 31-17 in the season opener.
In the AP poll, FSU is 18th — down 10 spots. Alabama moved up to 10th and Georgia slid to 12th.
The FWAA’s Super 16 poll also saw FSU drop out. But FSU received the most votes and is 17th. Alabama is up to 8th from 16th.
FSU will face No. 3 Miami (4-0) on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (ABC). The Hurricanes were idle and moved up three spots.
