Florida State landed a cornerback with local ties, with Nehemiah Chandler of Wakulla High committing on Saturday.

The South Alabama standout made FSU his first stop, arriving on the campus in the morning and committed late in the afternoon.

Chandler had 31 tackles and two interceptions in his redshirt freshman season at South Alabama in 2025. There's easy appeal for Chandler and FSU, a prospect coming home and the Seminoles could have him on the roster for 2026 and beyond.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Chandler joins a defensive backfield that has been solidified by recent decisions from Seminoles to return. Ja'Bril Rawls and Ashlynd Barker both intended to jump in the portal, but they instead reversed course and will be back.

Safety Earl Little Jr., FSU's top tackler in 2025, has stated he would enter the NFL Draft a year early but is reportedly contemplating a return, too.
