New Florida State kicker Conor McAneney was arrested on Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale and charged with battery on an officer, firefighter, EMT as well as resisting an officer-obstructing with violence and trespassing.
A police mugshot showed McAneney with a swollen lip and bruises on his cheeks. McAneney will turn 21 on April 10.
It’s not immediately clear when his next court appearance will be. An FSU football spokesperson said McAneney has been suspended indefinitely from team activities.
FSU students are on spring break this week. The Seminoles are slated to return to the practice field on Tuesday for the fourth spring practice.
McAneney, who is 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, is from Ireland and played at Quincy University. He made 7 of 10 field-goal attempts in 2025.
FSU also signed kicker Gabe Panikowski, who made 15 of 15 field-goal attempts at Idaho State in 2024. Panikowski spent 2025 at Oklahoma State but did not play.
