Florida State will send four football players to the ACC Kickoff event on July 23: quarterback Tommy Castellanos, defensive lineman Darrell Jackson Jr., defensive back Earl Little Jr. and offensive lineman Richie Leonard IV. Mike Norvell will also speak with the media that day at the league’s event in Charlotte, N.C.
Castellanos will be making his second straight appearance after representing Boston College in 2024. The senior transfer made 20 starts for BC from 2023-24, accumulating 3,613 passing yards and 33 touchdowns as well as 1,307 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. He surpassed 1,100 rushing yards in 2023 before new BC coach Bill O’Brien turned him into more of a pocket passer.
Jackson recorded 32 tackles and 3.5 sacks for FSU in 2024. He is expected to start at defensive tackle but could move out to the edge depending on down and distance in defensive coordinator Tony White’s new 3-3-5 scheme (which also adapts the fronts).
Little picked up 15 tackles and a sack as a reserve in 2024. He has been praised throughout the spring by White, and the Seminoles view him as a potential starter at one of the three safety spots in the base nickel alignment.
Leonard played in four games (three starts) before suffering a season-ending injury. The Florida transfer took a redshirt and could start at one of FSU’s two guard spots this fall.
FSU will open the season on Aug. 30 against Alabama at 3:30 p.m. (ABC).
