Wrianna Hudson scored in the 73rd minute as the Florida State soccer team advanced to the national championship game with a 1-0 win over TCU on Friday night.

Kate Ockene made a point-blank save with just seconds left to seal the win. Ockene had two saves for FSU.

FSU (15-2-4) will play Stanford on Monday at 7 p.m. for the national title. The Seminoles are seeking their fifth national title, with the program winning its last one in Brian Pensky’s second season in 2023.

Sophia Nguyen and Peyton McGovern also assisted on Hudson’s goal.

There was a controversial no call on a handball late in the game when a TCU shot went off FSU defender Heather Gilchrist’s arm. After review, the referees did not call the handball — which would have awarded TCU a penalty kick.

The victory snaps the Horned Frogs' (18-3-3) 12-game unbeaten stretch and is FSU’s 12th clean sheet of the season and third of the NCAA Tournament. Florida State has outscored its opponents 17-3 in its last seven games.

The Seminoles have advanced to the National Final in four of their last five College Cups and six of their last eight. That includes 2014, 2018, 2021 and 2023, when FSU went on to win the national championship.

FSU will play Stanford, which defeated Duke 1-0, in the second semifinal.
