Florida State built off an impressive debut with a 101-64 win over Alabama State on Friday night.

Lajae Jones scored 20 points and pulled down six rebounds and Kobe MaGee added 16 points and six rebounds as FSU drilled 18 3-pointers. Jones shot 8 of 10 from the floor and MaGee shot 4 of 9, all from beyond the arc.

Jones, MaGee and Martin Somerville each made four 3-pointers for the Seminoles. FSU had made 13 3-pointers in the win over Alcorn State on Tuesday.

Somerville finished with 14 points for FSU (2-0).

The Seminoles shot 35 of 74 (47.3 percent) for the game and 18 of 47 (38.3 percent) from 3-point range. FSU was also 13 of 14 from the free-throw line.

Alex Steen had nine points and led FSU with nine rebounds.

Robert McCray V had 12 points and five assists with three turnovers. The Seminoles had 22 assists to 15 turnovers.

Chauncey Wiggins had 12 points but on 4 of 13 shooting.

Asjon Anderson had 16 points for Alabama State, which shot 23 of 65 (35.4 percent) from the floor.

AJ Swinton suspended

FSU coach Luke Loucks suspended sophomore guard AJ Swinton before the game. Swinton is suspended indefinitely.
