There is palpable excitement around Florida State basketball and that momentum has continued on to the recruiting trail, as the Seminoles landed a commitment from four-star center Marcis Ponder.
The 7-foot Gillion Basketball Academy star is ranked as the No. 83 overall prospect and No. 8 center in the 2026 class by 247sports. He chose the Seminoles over Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Texas, Providence and Miami.
Ponder joins four-star point guard Jasen Lopez (who is also committed to FSU football) as members of Luke Louck’s 2026 recruiting class.
Ponder is scheduled to take an official visit to Florida State on Aug. 29 during the weekend of the football game against Alabama, per 247sports.
