Florida State moved up two spots in Baseball America’s poll to No. 15 and held firm at No. 14 in D1baseball’s rankings on Monday. The Seminoles maintained the No. 12 ranking in the USA Today coaches’ poll. And FSU is up two spots to No. 14 in the Perfect Game top 25.
North Carolina and Georgia Tech are consensus top-5 teams.
But the biggest jump over the weekend is in the Division I RPI, where FSU is at No. 7. That’s a nine-place jump in seven days, reflecting a sweep of Pittsburgh — a team that had entered the series as a hot team.
FSU (33-14) enjoyed a 4-0 week, knocking off South Florida and sweeping Pittsburgh over the weekend. The Seminoles have now won six ACC weekend series, although they were swept by Georgia Tech and Stanford.
Up next for FSU is a Tuesday matchup with Jacksonville at 6 p.m. (ACC Network Extra) at Dick Howser Stadium.
The Seminoles will play at Clemson in a three-game series beginning on Friday and finish the regular season against Miami in Tallahassee.
