Florida State sophomore Ousmane Kromah will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery in Miami. He has returned to Tallahassee and is expected to make a full recovery, the school announced in a statement on Sunday afternoon.

Kromah suffered the injury in FSU’s 43-35 loss in double overtime at Miami on Saturday night.

His mom, Katiatou Fofana Kromah, posted on Facebook early Sunday morning: “The bones connecting the foot and ankle are dislocated and fractured. To fix them, the doctors have to perform surgery and use metal plates and screws to hold the broken bones together until they heal. The hardware is temporary and will be removed once the bones have healed.”

Kromah, FSU’s leading rusher, had 114 carries for 609 yards (averaging 5.3 yards) and five touchdowns.

FSU’s depth at running back is thinned by injuries to Kromah and Samuel Singleton Jr., who is out indefinitely.

The Seminoles will now turn to Tre Wisner, who had nine catches for a season-best 63 yards and four catches for 56 yards (both season-highs) against Miami. Wisner is FSU’s best pass catcher out of the backfield, and he took a screen pass 28 yards for a touchdown Saturday.

He will be FSU’s new lead back, and it’s not an unfamiliar role: Wisner was a 1,000-yard rusher at Texas in 2024.

Freshman Amari Thomas (three carries for 11 yards) will also see more carries.

Zay Parks doesn’t have a carry this fall, but he had 15 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown in 2025.
