A few weeks after announcing a jersey patch sponsorship with Reliaquest for the FSU basketball team, on Friday FSU athletics and Kin insurance announced a sponsorship for FSU football as well as the other 17 Olympic sports.

Kin reports that it holds policies for 150,000 homeowners in Florida and is a “direct-to-consumer provider of insurance and home finance solutions for homeowners.” FSU and Kin announced the multi-year deal on Friday.

While the FSU hoops-Reliaquest deal was announced first, the Kin logo will become the first to appear on athletes’ jerseys in the 2026-27 athletics season. It will begin with FSU’s football game against SMU on Sept. 7.

The company is not well known, but Kin began offering home insurance in Florida in 2017 and the Sunshine State is Kin’s largest market.

“Kin’s Florida roots and commitment to serving people across the state make this a natural partnership for Florida State,” FSU athletics director Michael Alford said in a statement. “Our organizations share a belief in meeting challenges with strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the communities we serve. Kin’s investment will help us continue creating meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes, while supporting the competitive excellence and proud tradition of Florida State Athletics.”

Financials of FSU’s deal with Kin are not known. A request for financials on FSU’s deal with Reliaquest by the Osceola has not yet been fulfilled.

The Kin jersey patch will appear for the next four years, beginning with the 2026-27 season, across the following 18 varsity programs: football; women’s basketball; men’s and women’s cross country; women’s soccer; women’s volleyball; men’s and women’s swimming and diving; men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field; baseball; beach volleyball; women’s lacrosse; softball; men’s and women’s golf; and men’s and women’s tennis.

“Florida State University develops talented people who go on to lead across Florida, including some of the future leaders of the insurance industry,” said Sean Harper, co-founder and CEO of Kin, said in a statement. “We’re proud to support that and to build a company where those talented graduates can do important work. Kin started in Florida because homeowners here face a real problem: insurance is becoming more expensive and harder to find, and we can offer something better. We continue to grow and invest here even when the market gets tough. That combination of ambition and resilience is what we admire about Florida State. We’re proud to support FSU and continue investing in Florida.”
