Florida State landed a commitment from productive receiver Majay Thompson on Friday afternoon.

The 5-foot-11, 181-pound Thompson had 53 catches for 865 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior at Shelby (N.C.) Crest High. He picked FSU over Alabama, Georgia and Wake Forest.

"I really like the environment at FSU," Thompson told 247Sports. "It's a real college town. The culture is great and it's big-time football. The fans care a lot. The coaches are real cool and [wide receivers] coach Tim Harris is amazing.

"I could just picture myself there both times I visited. The first visit (in the spring) I only had question leaving campus, and I got it answered on my official visit."

He is viewed as a three-star prospect, one of the top 25 players in North Carolina in the 2027 class.

FSU now has 11 commitments in the 2027 class. That includes two receivers: Sean Green and Thompson. Both of them have committed in the month since quarterback Logan Flaherty made his pledge on May 19.
