Meshi Dobson, a reclassified defensive lineman, committed to FSU on Wednesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Dobson had 72 tackles (52 solo) and 14 sacks in eight games last fall at Fort Lauderdale Cypress Bay.

Dobson picked FSU over Miami, Syracuse among his dozens of offers. He is viewed as a four-star prospect in the class of 2027 by 247Sports and Rivals.

“FSU felt like the right choice because of the coaching staff, the culture and the opportunity to develop both as a player and as a person,” Dobson told the Osceola. “From the time I got on campus, it felt like home. I believe in what the coaches are building, and I’m excited to compete, keep improving and help bring championships to Tallahassee.”

FSU now has 17 commitments in the 2027 class. Among the four-star prospects are safety Ta'Shawn Poole, defensive lineman Sam LeJeune, receiver Sean Green, running back Jayden Miles and defensive back Za'Kari Johnson.
