The No. 10 Florida State softball team fell to No. 8 Florida 4-3 on Tuesday night at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in Gainesville.

Florida State (43-8) managed three runs on seven hits and drew three walks. Five different Seminoles recorded a hit in the loss, with Ashtyn Danley and Kennedy Harp each going 2 for 3.

The Seminoles got on the board early in the second inning after putting together a string of successful hits. Singles from Bella Ruggiero and Harp as well as a walk drawn by Shelby McKenzie loaded up the bases for Hayley Griggs, who singled softly into left field to drive in Ruggiero. Isa Torres followed it up with a sacrifice fly to the same side, sending McKenzie home and extending the lead to 2-0.

The Gators (46-8) responded with two runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning to even the score. They would take the lead in the bottom in the fourth with an RBI single, 3-2.

Florida State answered in the top of the fifth, loading the bases once more. A sacrifice fly into deep right field by Anna Hinde allowed Torres to tag up and swipe home.

Florida managed a one-run response in the bottom of the inning to reclaim the lead which they would maintain through the remainder of the game, 4-3.

Bella Dimitrijevic delivered three innings of work in her 13th start of the season, giving up two earned runs on three hits while picking up one strikeout. Marlee Gaskell (2-1) entered in relief in the fourth inning, throwing 2.1 innings and striking out three while allowing five hits.
