After months of courting Powder Springs (Ga.) Hillgrove edge rusher Chris Carbin, the Seminoles were finally able to lands the commitment of the three-star edge rusher.

At 6-foot-4 and 236 pounds, the composite three-star prospect (per 247sports composite) chose Florida State over Georgia Tech and Auburn.

Florida State offered Carbin on July 23rd after the Seminoles missed out on other targets during official visits. Carbin quickly rose to the top of Florida State’s board and the interest was mutual. Carbin unofficially visited at the first opportunity, taking in the Seminoles 31-17 victory over Alabama on August 31st.

Carbin decommitted from Georgia Tech on October 5th and returned to Florida State for an official visit on October 11th - where he declared the Seminoles his leader. Despite considering Auburn and returning to Brent Key’s recruiting class at Georgia Tech, Carbin committed to Florida State on Sunday.

“It’s a program built on tradition,” Carbin told On3’s Hayes Fawcett in October. “Coach Norvell has a great thing going on, and is building a legacy of greatness. I have definitely considered becoming a Seminole and part of a brotherhood that knows what it takes to win.”

Carbin is the No. 724 prospect in the country per the 247sports composite rankings. He is also considered to be the No. 68 ranked edge rusher and the No. 83 ranked prospect in the state of Georgia.
