Eli Putnam had a double and three RBI as Florida State defeated North Florida 4-1 on Tuesday night, opening the road trip with a decisive victory.

Cal Fisher went 2 for 4 and Brody DeLamielleure scored two runs for FSU (29-11), which has now won five straight games.

Brayden Dowd had an RBI double in the third, scoring Carter McCulley.

Putnam brought in a run in the fifth on a groundout, and he added a sacrifice fly in the sixth as FSU extended the lead to 3-0. In the eighth, he had an RBI double.

Manny Lantigua (1-0) started and pitched two scoreless innings. Gabe Nard tossed two hitless innings, striking out three. Cole Stokes struck out all three batters he faced in the fifth.

UNF dropped to 23-17.

FSU is 15-5 all-time against North Florida and 2-2 in Jacksonville. The Seminoles have won four in a row, including both contests this season.
