Florida State picked up a commitment from defensive lineman Eric Vaulx Jr. after his official visit on Sunday morning.
The 6-foot-2, 265-pound Vaulx Jr. picked FSU over a large group of SEC schools (including Oklahoma, Auburn, Tennessee and Mississippi State. He is viewed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and On3, and Vaulx is considered one of the top 20 prospects in the class of 2027 in Mississippi by both recruiting services.
What stood out about FSU?
“The relationship, the intimacy between players, the environment and players,” Vaulx Jr. told the Osceola after his commitment.
Vaulx Jr. had 75 tackles (53 solo), 18 tackles for loss and six sacks at Lake Cormorant (Miss.) High as a junior in 2025.
He was offered by FSU on May 7. Vaulx Jr. is the eighth commitment to FSU’s 2027 class, which includes four-star safety Mekhi Williams and three-star quarterback Logan Flaherty.
