Some of Florida State’s familiar problems were issues again on Tuesday.

The Seminoles made just 8 of 27 3-pointers and Dayton forced 20 turnovers in an 97-69 win over FSU on Tuesday night.

FSU (5-6) had an astounding five players foul out — Martin Somerville, Cam Miles, Kobe MaGee, Robert McCray V and Lajae Jones.

MaGee had 15 points on 3 of 7 shooting from beyond the arc. Jones had 14 points and eight rebounds. Somerville had 11 points on 3 of 8 shooting (2 of 5 from deep). McCray had 10 points, four rebounds and three assists.

Javon Bennett led Dayton (9-3) with 25 points, shooting just 3 of 12 from 3-point range but drilling 12 of 12 free-throw attempts. De’Shayne Montgomery had 20 points, while Jordan Derkack had 13 points and nine rebounds.

“We're just not playing good basketball. We're not a good basketball team right now,” FSU coach Luke Loucks said. “We fouled way too much. We're not going to blame anyone but ourselves. We got to be better. They shot 47 free throws. We turned the ball over too much. Our offense had no rhythm. They scored 22 points off those turnovers. They had 20 fast-break points, and they scored 55 in the second half. And I thought we just laid down and quit.

“We're gonna watch the film. We're gonna keep trying to push to get better. No one's gonna save us. We got to find a way to get better, and we got to find a way to galvanize our group and play some good basketball.”

FSU had just seven assists and 20 turnovers (Jones and McCray had four apiece). Dayton had 22 points off turnovers.

The Seminoles shot just 8 of 27 (29.6 percent) shots from 3-point range and 21 of 58 (36.2 percent) from the floor.
