Florida State took an early lead for a second straight day. The Seminoles refused to let it slip away on Sunday — and the Seminoles took a much-needed road series.

Nathan Cmeyla and Carter McCulley had solo home runs as FSU defeated Clemson 6-3 on Sunday afternoon, helping the Seminoles take two of three games.

FSU pounded out 15 hits but also struck out 12 times. The Seminoles stranded 15 runners and hit just 4 for 23 (.174) with runners in scoring position.

Still, there was enough production to grab the win. Cmeyla went 3 for 4, John Stuetzer went 3 for 4 with an RBI single and a sacrifice fly and Brody DeLamielleure went 3 for 6 with an RBI. DeLamielleure’s batting average was .225 going into April — it’s now up to .353.

FSU (36-15, 17-10 ACC) has now won seven ACC weekend series. The Seminoles’ two series losses have been sweeps at Georgia Tech and Stanford.

Bryson Moore (6-1) bounced back from some shaky, short starts with a quality start on Sunday. The right-hander tossed six innings, allowing just one earned run on five hits and a walk. He had four strikeouts.

Cooper Whited, who had been in the midweek starter role, pitched 1.2 innings in relief and gave up a pair of runs (one earned) as Clemson cut the deficit to 6-3 in the eighth. Brody Purcell recorded a strikeout to end the eighth.

Purcell then closed out the game in the ninth, recording a pair of strikeouts.

Ben Barrett started his third game of the series. He went 2 for 4 with two runs scored after going a combined 1 for 7 on Friday and Saturday.

Clemson dropped to 30-22, 9-18.
