Chauncey Wiggins scored 22 points on his 22nd birthday as the Florida State men's basketball team defeated Notre Dame 82-79 on Saturday afternoon.

Wiggins shot 8 of 15 from the floor, including 5 of 10 from 3-point range, as the Seminoles won their third straight game.

Robert McCray V added 15 points as FSU (11-12, 4-6 ACC) held off a late run by Notre Dame.

Wiggins has now finished in double-figures in three consecutive games and has scored 20 points in back-to-back games for the first time this season. It was the fourth time this season he has scored 20 or more points.

McCray V extended his double-digit scoring streak to 10 games and has finished in double-figures 20 times in his first season as a Seminole.

The Seminoles made 15 3-point shots, which is tied for the third most 3-point shots made in an ACC game in program history.

Florida State led 80-79 before sophomore Alier Maluk stepped up and sank two clutch free throws to put the Seminoles up three. FSU has now won four of its last five ACC games.

The Seminoles led Notre Dame 41-32 at the half.

Florida State led most of the second half, but saw Notre Dame take its first lead, 75-74 with 2:07 to go.

A defensive stop and rebound by Alex Steen led to another Wiggins made 3-point shot to give Florida State the lead back, 77-75. From that point, the Seminoles would not relinquish the lead.

Steen finished with 10 points and had a game-high nine rebounds. Steen has now scored in double-figures in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Notre Dame (11-13) has now lost nine of 10 games.
