Florida State had its most productive day at the plate in the weekend series at Virginia.

Nine runs and 12 hits later, plus an impressive start from Cavaliers transfer Bryson Moore, it was a dominating victory that secured a fourth ACC series win for the Seminoles.

Cal Fisher went 2 for 3 with a two-run homer, Carter McCulley had a pair of RBI hits and FSU shredded six Virginia pitchers in a 9-3 victory on Saturday afternoon. Fisher’s blast put FSU on the board, setting a tone early as the Seminoles had four extra-base hits.

Moore pitched seven shutout innings, allowing just two hits and a walk. He had seven strikeouts and had exceptional command — of his 85 pitches, 61 were strikes.

Playing for the first weekend without slugger Myles Bailey, FSU (24-7, 9-3 ACC) now has four straight ACC series wins: at Wake, NC State, Duke and Virginia.

FSU’s lineup was again a little different, with Chase Williams in a leadoff role (he went 1 for 6 with a double but had two RBI). Hunter Carns hit cleanup and went 2 for 4 with an RBI single and double. He’s now hitting .351 on the season.

Kelvyn Paulino Jr. went 1 for 4 with two runs scored and is now hitting .325.

The Cavaliers fell to 24-9, 8-7.
