The No. 10 Florida State softball team (31-4, 8-0 ACC) extended its winning streak to 20 games with a 4-2 win at Clemson on Saturday afternoon to secure the series win.

FSU has now won three straight ACC series, beginning with Syracuse and Cal.

Clemson (23-12, 6-5) struck first as a walk and a hit-by-pitch allowed the Tigers to manufacture a run with a bunt and groundout for the game’s first run.

Neither team recorded a hit in the first three innings, but the Seminoles broke through in the fourth inning for the second game in a row. Jaysoni Beachum led off the inning with a single, and Shelby McKenzie doubled to left center. Beachum was thrown out at home, but Bella Ruggiero reached on an error to bring home McKenzie and Ashtyn Danley to give the Noles the lead.

The Tigers got their first hit of the day in the fifth inning with a couple of infield singles that allowed a run to tie up the game.

The game would not be tied for long as Ruggiero drew a two-out walk, and Anna Hinde hit her sixth home run of the year to deep left field to give the Seminoles the lead.

Ashtyn Danley finished the game by retiring the final six batters to earn the win to improve to 7-1 on the year.

Danley and Bella Dimitrijević were great in the circle once again as the duo allowed just two runs on two hits.
