Our readers tell us our strength is the perspectives we are able to share with them, insights we’ve gleaned over nearly 45 years of covering Florida State athletics with two decades of work inside athletics administration.
Co-founder and owner Jerry Kutz started The Osceola in 1982 as a newspaper before selling the publication to work for Seminole Boosters Inc. where he developed a rich understanding of the business of college athletics and the impact it has on the players and fans it seeks to serve. We look back on the past trials and tribulations for help in making the current turbulence in college athletics make a little more sense for readers.
While FSU football, FSU sports business and recruiting are foundational, we follow all men's and women's sports. We also cover the fan experience, delivering ideas to increase your enjoyment of FSU sports.
We hope you enjoy our story telling, getting to know our staff, engaging in discussion on our FSU message boards, and keeping an open line of communication with us about how we cover the Florida State program.
