MIAMI – Three-star receiver Kentron Poitier chose Florida State over a group of other schools in a signing day ceremony on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Poitier had interest from a number of FBS schools, including Florida and Syracuse. Poitier’s relationship with wide receivers coach Ron Dugans was a critical part of his recruitment. New FSU coach Mike Norvell also made a visit to Miami last week to meet Poitier.
“Good relationship with Dugans, me and my mom talked about it and said it would be the best fit for me,” Poitier said. “I feel like coach Norvell can come here, get the job done, put us back on a winning record.”
Poitier says Dugans is focused on teaching the details and that will help his development.
Signing receivers is a critical piece of FSU’s 2020 class as coaches look to build depth in the group.
Poitier plans to enroll at FSU in the summer.
