Florida State received a commitment from 2021 three-star receiver Malik McClain on Saturday morning.
The Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy prospect is 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. He had also received offers from Miami, Georgia Tech and Kentucky. The senior is considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports who also have him ranked as the 64th best wide receiver prospect in the country for the 2021 recruiting class and as the 68th best overall prospect in the state of Florida.
McClain is from Daphne (Ala.) where he caught 26 passes for 424 yards and five touchdowns in 2019.
He is a big target with long arms and a wide radius. McClain does of good job of winning one-on-one battles on deep vertical routes outside the hash where his size works to his advantage. Those same qualities should be beneficial in the red zone. He adjust to the ball well when passes are underthrown or behind him. McClain has very good speed and is effective with the ball after the catch.
McClain is the 15th commitment for the 2021 class. He joins three-star Joshua Burrell as receivers in the group.
