FSU landed the third commitment towards its 2023 recruiting class on Monday evening. Wide receiver Vandrevius Jacobs, 6-foot and 155 pounds, from Vero Beach (Fla.) High gave his pledge to sign with FSU once he finishes his prep career.
Jacobs was on the FSU campus last week competing in FSU’s 7-on-7 camp. He is considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports, which also rank him as the No. 62 wide receiver in the class of 2023. Arkansas, FIU, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Miami and West Virginia also have reportedly offered Jacobs.
Osceola Recruiting Analyst and President of Elite Scouting Services Charles Fishbein has Jacobs ranked as the 10th-best wide receiver in Florida for 2023.
“Jacobs is a player that you better get a hand on at the line of scrimmage,” said Fishbein. “If he gets a clean release, he will come down with the football. He is at his best when the ball is thrown in front of him. Jacobs does struggle to adjust to the ball in the air. Get him the ball on his front shoulder and he will catch the ball and make something happen after the catch.”
