Nausia Woolfolk had a strong night from start to finish. And Florida State is now 3-0 to open the season.
The senior guard scored 22 points on 9 of 14 shooting as the Seminoles pulled away to a 75-41 win over Jacksonville on Wednesday night.
FSU is 100-9 when it scores 70 or more points in a game.
Nicki Ekhomu and Kiah Gillespie each scored 14 points as FSU shot 27 of 55 (49 percent) from the floor. Gillespie added 10 rebounds.
“I thought we had a much better second half than the first half,” FSU head coach Sue Semrau said. “I think Jacksonville did a good job of taking away our interior in the first half and we had to adjust. The kids came out in the second half and created some offense through their defense.”
The Seminoles drove the lane and drew fouls. Ekomu made 6 of 6 free throws for FSU, which shot 19 of 27 from the free-throw line.
River Baldwin had nine points and five rebounds for FSU, which outrebounded JU 41-30.
The Dolphins shot just 18 of 57 (31.6 percent) from the floor.
Ekhomu now has 990 career points, just 10 shy of becoming the 36th Seminole to reach the 1,000 mark.
The Seminoles next play Samford at home on Sunday at 2 p.m. (live stream on ACC Network Extra).
